The stones we feature are commonly called Happy Camp jade, and Pulga jade...however each should be properly called Vesuvianite. In most places in the world Vesuvianite is commonly found in crystal form, here in these 2 California locations it is found in Massive Form. This means the these local Vesuvianites are found as boulders, seams, or veins, and since this massive form is almost exclusive to these California Vesuvianite locations it has been named Californite, this name was created by Frederick Kunz, famed gemologist and author.
These 2 types of Californite are unique and quite different from each other, we intend to bring the best specimens to the market place for the discriminating collector, silversmith, or jewelry designer.
